HOW TO INSTALL YOUR ARTISSANOS HAMMOCK

A hammock is composed of the following components:

 

 

Please make sure to properly install your hammock on a sturdy hanging source, such as your walls, between trees or from a patio/deck.  We recommend your hammock body to be installed at least 2 feet above the ground.  It is important to hang your hammock with a loose curvature where is nice to lie down and relax.

  • HANGING ON WALLS

Find two walls that are across from each other.  Locate the wall studs and drill to perforate the wall at the center of the studs.   The point where you drill should be approximately 7 feet up from the floor.  Install the hooks and then use a rope or suspension strap to hang the eyes of the hammock to the hooks.

The recommended distance between hanging points is equivalent to the length of the hammock plus an additional 25 inches more.  You can make the distance shorter or larger to extend the reach of your hammock by adjusting the rope that you use to hang it.   The closer you hang the eyes together, the higher your hammock will need to be from the ground. You can also purchase a hanging frame to hang the hammock. 

  • OUTDOORS BETWEEN TREES

Find two trees at a distance of approximately 15 feet from each other.  Wrap a rope around each tree at a height of approximately 7 feet up from the ground.  Then attach each rope to the eyes of the hammock by tying a tight knot on each side.  Make sure both sides are hung evenly on each tree.You can make the distance shorter or larger to extend the reach of your hammock by adjusting the rope that you use to hang it.   The closer you hang the eyes together, the higher your hammock will need to be from the ground. 

  • OUTDOORS ON YOUR DECK OR PORCH

Secure a rope to a deck or porch post by drilling a hook or wrapping it around the post.  Repeat the same steps on the other post.  Attach the ropes to the eyes of the hammock and enjoy!  The distance between the post should be around 15 feet from each other.  The height should be approximately 7 feet from the ground. 

 

HOW TO INSTALL YOUR ARTISSANOS SWING

A swing is composed of the following components:

  • HANG YOUR SWING INDOOR

The first step is to locate a solid, stud ceiling joist in your chosen location and find the center using a stud finder.

Drill only as deep as the eye-screw or bolts. Place the eye screw in the hole, use a tube or large screwdriver to twist it securely in to place or mount the hanging brackets.

Place an oval, stainless steel snap-hook or locking carabiner through the eye of each lag eye-screw and attach a chain or rope. Close the carabiner to lock the chain or rope in position.

Attach a second carabiner to the bottom of the chain or rope and fasten the swing to it through the eye of the swing. Adjust to your preferred height.

NOTE: We recommend to use a rotational device, it serves as the movement point for the suspended equipment, therefore will minimize the rotation of the eye screw or hanging brackets in the ceiling. Please source each device per our weight limits. 

  • ATTACH A SWING TO A TREE

Choose a sturdy hardwood and horizontal branch. Inspect the branch- it must be healthy, don’t use a dead one. Avoid fruit trees, evergreens, or trees that split easily. We recommend the swing body to be installed at least 2 feet above the ground, and 2 feet away from the trunk without the branch bouncing. Plan on replacing the rope every couple of years.

Eyebolt: Carefully drill a vertical hole all the way through the center of the branch, and insert a corrosion-resistant eye bolt, using washers and nuts to secure it to the tree. Attach the rope or chain. Attach a carabiner to the eye bolt, then tie the rope or chain to the carabiner. Attach a second carabiner to the bottom of the rope or chain and fasten the swing to it through the eye of the swing. Adjust to your preferred height.

If you choose to tie the rope around the tree branch, use a rope sleeve or a piece of rubber tubing to reduce friction and to protect the bark. Attach a carabiner to the bottom of the rope and fasten the swing to it through the eye of the swing. Adjust to your preferred height.
