Our banana fiber products literally come from nature. Handmade by local women in South India to provide better income opportunities, while also respecting the natural ecology of the region. The fiber used for hand looming this product is locally available and it's made out of the "dead" leaves of the banana trees. These leaves, previously considered as waste, are now getting a new life in the form of contemporary and sustainable design innovation.
The banana leaves are spliced by hand to extract fiber strips which are then handwoven to make these eco-friendly table runners.
